Dear Friends in Christ,
May the peace of Christ be with you and your family! Thank you again to our friends and benefactors who have been supporting VDS’s efforts in Vietnam for the past six years. We are speechless when it comes to saying "THANK YOU" to each and everyone of you.

I am writing this letter to once again THANK you for your prayers and financial support of our humanitarian projects that provide a better quality of life for the poor in Vietnam through the means of education. I am happy to share with you the good works God is performing in our ministry through your prayers and generosity. In February of 2011 we distributed 50 scholarships to 50 college students, including students who reside at our two Lavang Boarding Houses in Saigon. In addition, we also distributed 20 bicycles to poor elementary and high school students in the province of Binh Thuan, south Vietnam. Ten of our students at our two boarding houses will graduate by October of this year (2011) with degrees in English, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Modern Science and Technology, Business Administration, and Construction. We will have 12 more students at our boarding houses graduating from college in 2012! That is indeed very good news given the fact that VDS was established only in 2005!

For the academic year of 2011-2012, we have twenty-one (21) women residing at our Lavang Boarding House for Women in Saigon (Thu Duc) directed by Sister Nga, CCSS. There are also fifteen (15) men at our Lavang Boarding House for Men in Saigon (Go Vap) under the direction of Brother Thanh, CCSS. The Brothers and Sisters of the Community of Charity and Social Services (CCSS) collaborate with VDS to ensure that our college students at our two boarding houses are taken care of. We are grateful for their leadership and cooperation with VDS’ efforts.

Once again I am writing to appeal for your prayers and financial assistance to help us continue the wonderful works God is working through all of us to help provide a better quality of life for our poor students and their families in Vietnam. Due to Sr. Cecilia’s recent relocation to join her Community in Mississippi, VDS will NOT have its annual fundraiser/gala in Virginia this year. This is our ONLY APPEAL for assistance for the year of 2011. Any gift you offer will be deeply appreciated. We rely on God’s providence through your continued support and generosity. As always, we remain deeply grateful to you for enabling our students to accomplish their “dream for success” in hope of a brighter future!
